so i'm wheelin' Needa down Old York near Luzerne and i notice in my peripheral the passenger window slowly slide down into the door. WTF! first thought is that i accidentally pressed the button. nope. then i thought the rather humongous bag of Dr. C's laundry had accidentally pressed on the passenger side button. nope. full of irritation and generously spouting expletives, i turned around and returned to my block extra pissed off. no laundry for me. what a way to end my pretty much relaxing vacation.
next day i get up bright and early 'cause my mechanic is only open from 8a-1p on Saturday. he immediately says i need a regulator but the junkyard isn't open on Saturday. damn. so i'm not a quitter. feel me! i tell the mechanic i'll call around and he will call around. so i find a junkyard in my area and go pick up a regulator for a decent price. is it the right part? nope. did i ask for the right part? yes sir! does the receipt say i can't exchange a wrong part for a right part? awww damn. but i did not ask for the wrong part. they gave me the wrong part. so now i've gotta see how they play this shit. will they be scammy or will they play it straight? i ain't gettin' my hopes up yo!
so here goes my Monday. get car. get right part. drop off car. wait for car to get fixed. read text books. practice my piano lessons...
yeah!

take this job and...
...as Luda would say "Blow it out your ass!"
no further comment dudos. wow how things can change so drastically in a matter of days. [SPRINGBOARD!]
most gigs i've had have suffered because of shitty management. this is why i really have no desire to be anyone's employee. i can say without hesitation that 98% of the managers i've worked for in my career as an employee have been dorks, assholes, dimwits, boneheads, snakes, clowns and/or downright irritating. mind you, the other 2% were okay, but they were the exceptions. how unfortunate. usually it's a case of them playing CYA. is that something they teach in management class or something? if it is, i'll probably fail that segment. if you're not gonna do shit right, don't do it at all. dopes. there's a big ass difference between cost effectiveness and shafting the customer. apparently, most companies don't make the distinction very often or clearly. as an employee i find it irritating. as a customer i find that shit offensive. unfortunately though, it is apparently the prevailing mentality in most situations. the worst part is that most people just eat this shit and allow it to pass...DOH!
it's sad that more people don't realize the power of group response and organized opposition. apathy is a bitch! are you down for the revolution?
i don't feel like thinking of a "make like," so make like i put one HERE!

AAA Mid-Atlantic Emergency Roadside Service sucks!
yes it does. how do i know? 'cause i just cancelled the hell out of my service. why? aaahhhh! there's the real meat 'n' potatoes...
it's Friday morning. i'm tired as shit. i'm debating on whether or not to hurry up and take I-76 home before the delayway traffic begins or take a much needed nap so that i can actually be awake while i'm stuck in the 5mph traffic (actually, i refuse to drive on 76 anymore during normal commuter hours). so i go out to Needa, dig in my pocket and pull out the key. or do i? no, i don't. i don't pull out the key because the goddamn thing has decided to break in my fucking pocket! yes, that is absolutely correct. 5A, Friday morning, my key is sitting in my pocket in 2 distinctly separate pieces that cannot be recombined. am i upset? no. Irritated, yes. shocked, quite so. but upset, no not at all. and why am i not upset? hey, because i have frickin' AAA Plus (that's right, i paid a couple extra bucks for the plus service).
now begins the pissed off part. i call AAA. after i get transferred to the wrong number for the area where i'm located, i finally get a rep on the phone. after obtaining all the pertinent information from me the rep asks me what the prob is, so i tell her. as i wait for her to say someone will be out in an hour or 2 (that's usually what they say), i hear something completely different and rather insanely disturbing: AAA Mid-Atlantic Emergency Roadside Service does not have any 24 hour locksmiths available. excuse me! that's right. none. zero. nada. zilch. negative. fuck you and have a cold ass, 5AM, freeze your nuts off morning.
wow! freakin' amazing. no locksmith. how in the hell can you call yourself an emergency roadside service if you don't have 24 access to services that can help when issues emerge causing my car to be stuck on the side of the road? you can't, so i won't. in fact, i cancelled the service, or so i thought. when i called these fools later in the evening, i get a rep who asks if i'd like to file a complaint. you're damn right i would. i prepare to tell her what happened when it dawns on me that she is pulling up account info. what the fuck! so i ask her is my account cancelled and she of course says no. assholes! this loon asks me if i'd like to maintain my account while waiting for a response to my complaint. the gall! what on Earth do i have to gain by doing such a foolish thing? she says i may like the response from customer service...you believe that shit? i kindly inform her that unless someone can come out at 5AM the past morning, there isn't anything anyone can tell me that will be to my liking.
fucking dorks. i gotta call again today to make sure that shit is cancelled. meanwhile, stay the hell away from useless AAA...

on a more positive note (pretty active today huh?)
anyways, didn't want to be all blizzow and what not, so...
here are a few hot items i've come across on the web. some of this shit is old some of it is new. either way feel free to getcha check on...
great place for vinyl...
oh yeah, massive selection of great underground and classic material
this a tight offering from Yahoo! for desktop enhancement. i downloaded it over a month ago and never really checked it out until yesterday. i'm feelin' it...
yahoo widgets
watch out for AOL Triton. it will not maintain your old IM account by screen name or anything else. it completely robs you of whatever IM identity you may have had for who knows how many years on the net. if you install it, you have to select a new name and someone may have already selected your name. HOW WACK IS THIS! if you want to keep the old AIM, here is the place to go to get it...
old (and likely better) AIM
and on another watch out tip, if you're not a fan of iTunes (like me), you don't have to install the beast with QuickTime. there is a stand alone installer and you can get that from...
just QuickTime please! (be careful of those 2 check boxes too!)
let's see, what else...
oh yeah, if you wanna cop some books on the budget tip, here are some great spots...
it ain't literal, but it can lead to literary liberation
recently cheaper than amazon
usually the cheapest and quite quick with the shipping
okay, gotta go assemble the super duper new workstation...eat one Mac...wait'll i cop that dual core...
make like a Pentium CPU in one of my systems...

DRAMA
1 question: why do management types tend to underestimate the intellect of their employees? or maybe this shit just happens to me? maybe that's why i am so bent on having my own business that is essentially a proprietorship. or perhaps, i am such a 'nob that i just don't like other people that exhibit social and/or intellectual deficiencies. hmmm.
anyway, Crepta has been dicking me over for the past 2 weeks since Needa's been down. this shit is to the point of me wanting to smack the shit out of any Crepta employee that says something i don't like. you know like "where's your pass sir." or "move to the back please." or even better "there's another bus right behind me." i'm fi'n ta put some Crepta in my teeth right about now...
project studio plans took a major hit thanks to Needa's needin' a trannie. that shit ate up my mixer $. don't know how long it's gonna take to save up for the mixer i want, but i'm not going out on a Mackie since i found out about this Allen & Heath. it's only 14 channels, but it looks real sweet. gonna look even sweeter in the studio. got all the pizzarts for the workstation. in fact, i'm about to start filming the process today. [filming! huh?]
yup, i'm filming the process and one of my 1st projects in the project studio is going to be to edit and author a DVD to be given to TechMD215 clients on how to build a PC. i'm all about education, and i figure what better way to show people how easy it is to maintain a system than through a DVD trainer. most techs would probably feel better if the average user wallowed in their ignorance, but i ain't most techs...
anyways, looks like i may be seeking some less volatile employment situation(s). maybe not, but under the current circumstances, it may be best if i do. i've never collected unemployment 1 day in my life. not planning on starting now.
on that note. catch you with a bat...to the dome that is...

well...
...GODDAYUM!
it's been a minute, huh? shit's been crizzle lizzle fa rizzle. Needa had a fucking stroke and i had to keep'er. we had a deal that if she died she was gone, but the reality is that i need my ride now. it took 3 months to find Needa. the shit i'm working on and my current station in life require me to have transport other than Crepta. i like sleeping on the bus, but i don't particularly like having that kind of travel time where i can sleep for over an hour while traveling. at least not when i'm running errands anyway. now a vacation...
...i could sleep like that on a plane, train or bus. that is if my large self can fit on the particular mode of vehicular escapism. usually that's not the case. i can't even fit in a Navi. could somebody please explain beyond conspicuous consumption why a Lincoln Navigator exists? i rode in a friend's once and it was so small inside i thought i was in the Twilight Zone or some shit like that. like it was a Navi on the outside, but inside it was a freakin' Escort...
oh yeah, i'm on it right now. technically, i shouldn't even be posting this shit at the moment. i'm supposed to be on Crepta headed to Conshie for my internship. so on that note, i'm O-U-T!

bloing, bloing, bloing...
yeah, yeah, whatever. it's been a few days. i'm pretty much beat from the new schedule. i'm gettin' it in this semester. 14 credits plus working full time. the last time i tried this, i got burnt out after about 4 months. difference now is i have a better gig. also i'm only hustling 1 gig. last time i was hustling 1 pt gig, 1 ft gig and ft evening classes 5 days a week. [SHEESH!] now i'm only working ft 4 days out of the week. thing is my work schedule is a l'il crizzle. i'm bustin' overnights essentially every shift. don't get me confrabulated, i like the hours. it's the combo of ft school and ft work that's making things tight. if i wasn't a family man, it might'nt be all that, but i am. gotta keep the seed and the queen in the light you know.
anyways, speaking of the queen, had an irritating argument w/her yesterday. the end result was an utter lack of sleep on the day. now i'm beatified. i won't even go into the details of the disagreement. i don't feel like it.
the job is going through growing pains. we used to have snacks, but now it costs too much to keep us snacked up. the management's bustin' it up w/the vending type modulation. it's cool. all i really ate was cashews and pop tarts. the other shit was fattening and not good for me anyway. speaking of fattening, i haven't been doing my exercises. ol' fatass...
taxes baby...
if you don't know, you betta find out. check out Turbo Tax and/or Tax Freedom. i've been doing my own taxes since high school. i've only gotten it wrong once and that was on some stupid shit that i did w/a missing W-2. IRS got their loot the next year outta my refund...[OUCH!] got a nice chunk coming this year. plan on paying off some or all of my credit report blemishes. it's likely to be more somish because i'm copping some gear as well. found this tight looking mixer, but it's $1400. gotta have a tight mixer though. this home studio project is key.
well, i'm tired of writing and my izarm is izachin'...

i'm not a Mac hater...
...i just hate to part w/that much loot to get a computer with which i cannot technically fiddle. i actually dig Macs, but i cannot expense for one at the moment. perhaps if i began to thoroughly promote myself as the tech that i am, i could generate the necessary fundulation to expedite said purchase. that would be rather ironic. fixing PC's to derive the necessary capital for acquiring a Mac...how about that! [hey that rhymed. YAAY!] anyway, primarily, i am dedicated to getting...[uncharacteristically interrupted by life's circumstances for the last 8 days]...no idea how that sentence was supposed to end. [hmmm, oh well!]
a computer is a computer. i don't think most people realize that the essential differences between a Mac and any PC are significantly insignificant. they are essentially the same machine. it's like cars with the whole make and model bit. oddly, for raw computing power and capability, PC's are usually better spec'ed than the Mac's of similar processing power. the 2 major factors between Mac and PC consist of OS and flexibility. [i don't feel like discussing this any further, sorry!]

shameless plug (Creative Zen Vision 30GB Black)...
yo! you gotta cop a Zen Vision. it's hot. i got a black one. it plays video and audio. if you have any PC nuts at all, you'll get your bang outta this device. 30GB, that's right, 30GB of space in something that's smaller than my big ass hand. i hear Ipod are pretty small, especially the Nano, but i don't want an Ipod. i'm kinda on an anti-Mac crusade. i say kinda because i'd love to have a Mac, but not for the reasons most cats say. i've had my unfair share of Mac instabilities. a computer is a computer as far as i'm concerned. then again, i am a tech, but anyway. i can't fuck w/my Mac when i get one, so i'm gonna stick w/the PC side of life for the moment. $2500 is too much for me to spend and i can't dig up in the case. that's like marrying a beautiful woman but only her doctor can have sex with her...okay, i know that's a pretty extreme metaphor, but you get the picture. i'm working on my new system now and spec by spec it's comparable, and sometimes superior, to a G5 with the exception of not having a dual core processor. "feel the body heat..."
speaking of feeling and body heat, i copped a CPU fan for the new system and it is fucking HUGE! i knew it had some special features, 'cause i plooped out $42 for it. when i unpacked my components from Ewiz, i couldn't figure out what the hell this thing was until i picked it up and looked at it. when i say fucking huge, i mean FUCKING HUGE! i still can't believe how big it is. i only ordered it 'cause it had copper piping to help draw heat from the CPU. copper being the excellent conductor that it is, i figured yeah, great. now i don't even know how in the hell it's going to fit into the case. oh well, i look forward to the challenge. either way, the retail CPU i copped comes with a heatsink/fan in the box.
well, i ain't slept right again in the last 72 hours, so i'm dozy. before i start typing crazily, i'ma quit this...ooh, i still gotta finish that other story. oh well, maybe next time...
make like a 9:00pm sunset at the Winter Solstice...
